This Week

Sunny slept 12 hours last night!  I vote sleep training success.  At night at least, naps are a work in progress. We used the Sleep Sense method, which I gave a write up on Hellobee here.  Also, here's my 11 and 34 month updates for the girls.  Sunny is just two weeks shy of a year.  Pretty crazy.  It's been a rather cold and icy week here, but these are some things that have made me smile (other than my family, who are so amazing I can hardly stand it).

Eating
Popcorn.  With copious amounts of butter and salt.  It's so not paleo!  I don't miss bread or pasta, but I can't seem to give up hot, buttery popcorn.

Drinking
Cocoa Comino Drinking Chocolate.  So good!  It's actual chocolate all ground up, not just cocoa.  So the bottom bit is a small sludge of melted chocolate instead of grittiness.  Even better with a slosh of biscotti Baileys!

Listening
Season One by All Sons and Daughters.  It's kind of a folky worship cd, and it's the first Christian album I've bought in ages.  It makes me feel peaceful and happy to listen to it, and Ria and I always dance to Alive when it comes on.

Watching
Small Fry is doing a series of videos on Creative professional mommies and their kids.  They are the sweetest little movies ever.  Seriously, I got all choked up with happiness.

Reading
My current fiction book is Flame of Sevenwaters by Juliette Marillier.  I just started, but I know I'm going to love it because she is one of my favourite authors.  I love that her heroines are always strong and brave, but in different ways.  She doesn't need to have girls running around with swords rescuing themselves from dragons, they have a quiet strength to them.

For nonfiction I'm reading Montessori from the Start.  It's my first book on Montessori and I'm hoping to get some ideas to encourage confidence and independence in Ria who seems to be wanting a lot of help with things she knows how to do.  We'll see how it goes!

Hmm, it's time to snuggle and watch shows with Craig, but I think he might have fallen asleep while tucking Ria into bed.  Should I wake him?  Or should I just watch some Downton Abbey?

  1. I have that Montessori book on coming to me via interlibrary loan. Hope it's a good one!

    1. It's pretty good, but I'm also reading another one that is really great. I'll post it next week.
