Let's pretend it's Spring

I'm really feeling the winter "meh"'s this year.  Not getting out enough I guess.  Somehow the ice and slush out there doesn't feel like a fun place to take the baby.  So I'm daydreaming about spring.  I know that in Canada we still have another month or so of winter, but I'm willing to pretend that spring is just around the corner.

The grocery store had little crocus and mini daffodill bulbs just sending up shoots.  $2.99 a pot.  I brought a bunch home and started a little spring garden on my windowsill.

I can plant them outside in the fall and they'll pop up like the rest of the flowers next year, but for now they can keep me company in here.  And instead of looking out at all the grey and brown (there is snow, but it isn't very fresh today) and feeling sorry for myself, I have a little reminder of green and growing things above my sink.  A hint of what's to come.

  1. You make me wish I had a "safe" windowsill to put flowerpots on. All of mine are easily accessible by 2-year-old hands...
